Seeking for the Lost

Earlier Today I was shocked of the viral photo from the social networking site that a girl jump from the 5th floor of a famous shopping mall. I don't know the reason why the girl committed suicide but her death was on a Valentines Day. There were many speculations regarding the cause but the victim only knows the cause of her death.

We are living in the world full of agony and pain, we are not the only one who suffers from this, there were people who has bigger problems than you. We just have to open our eyes and see the reality that life brings.

God gives the toughest battle to His children to test our faith. In this world we have to be open minded to understand and balance the things that happen, but most important is Seeking God's Guidance in every trial that we face.

I don't judge people who thinks that suicide is the only solution to escape the pain that we feel and experienced, but I want to lend my ears and offer my hand if they need someone to talk. Prayers is indeed a big help and that is the only way to find peace of mind, and have a close relationship with God. I believe in the power of prayers, I experience a lot of trials until now, but I thank God because through prayers He gave me peace of mind and courage to face it.

Trust God above all. Trials may come but you have to remember that He is wider than the ocean and higher than the universe. If we are tired of it call Him and he will give you rest.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. - Matthew 11:28

Hidden Treasure

READ: Proverbs 2: 1-5

Key Verse :   Proverbs 2:4
If thou seekest her as silver,
and searchest for her as for hid treasures; -  KJV

When we read fictional books we understand the content, and we can easily tell a story about what we have read, now let's face the reality, try to read The Bible, can we understand the content of God's word? can we understand every word that is written in those Books? or can we even get the message of those author and the reason why they wrote it?

My answer is NO, even if I grew up reading the pages of The Bible I can't still understand the scriptures. That is why I admire those who can understand and teach. Skimming is also a problem when I'm reading it. I know I grew up familiar with the Bible stories and even memorizing those verses but still I can't get some of the words written.

I must admit that reading fictional books can make me go into stitches, but reading The Bible can't sustain my retention that make me turn away from the book. And why did my fellow Christians love reading it?

As a Christian we must learn how to read and understand the Scriptures, not only reading it but we have to meditate therein day and night.

Proverbs 2 encourages us to make effort to know God better by carefully seeking a heart of understanding. When we read the Bible carefully and invest time in memorizing Scripture, we absorb its truth more deeply.

(vv.1-2) Sometimes reading the word aloud helps us to hear and understand the wisdom of God more fully. And when we pray the words of Scripture back to God and ask Him for "insight and understanding"

(v.3) We enjoy a conversation with the Author.

Dear Lord,

help me to slow down and listen to what You want to teach me through Your word so I can be the person that You want me to be.
